The VíaNatur Film Festival was founded in 2024 as a result of a collaboration between the Viana de Cega City Council and Planetazul Producciones. Its aim is to showcase the richness and diversity of environmental cinema and generate spaces for debate on major current environmental issues.

Film, as an audiovisual tool, has the unique power to educate and raise awareness about the need to generate urgent changes in the face of the global environmental crisis, as demonstrated by the 2,700 short films from 124 countries submitted to the first edition.

True to its commitment to our environment, in this 2025 edition, VíaNatur seeks to focus on the importance of pollinators, on pollination, a relevant and highly impactful topic worldwide, as 75% of food crops depend on pollination by insects such as bees, a figure that rises to 90% in the case of wild flowering plants. Therefore, their role is "fundamental"; for the production of many foods and, in general, for the entire agri-food sector.

These insects play a "vital" role in the survival of ecosystems and the increase in biodiversity. The Festival will hold its second edition from June 26 to 29, 2025, in Viana de Cega, province of Valladolid, as well as through our digital platforms.
